This a very small town located on the north coast of Spain between Bilbao and Santiago de Compostela. We drove with Carlos from Bilbao to gijon. Bus connections were more expensive and inconvenient so we found Carlos on blablacar who drove that same afternoon to this small village were he grew up in. He was so kind and even dropped us off right in front of the apartment we had rented through airbnb.
There is not much to do here except just wonder around the old town, take a long walk by the beach, enjoy some good food and people watch. We needed that. After an extensive stay in San sebastian and Bilbao we needed to unwind and relax whithout needing to sight-see and feeling like we’re missing out on something. Going to beautiful cities and towns one after another you tend to burn out quickly. You feel like to have to see all these beautiful things, like monuments, architecture and scenery because you’re right there, but your mind needs a break every now and then. It’s really easy to get caught up in the moment, but we need to remember to slow down and smell the roses and look up to the sky and take in that moment.
